A REAL E! EXPERIENCE

A local elementary school called.... They had been working with plaster of paris molds in the art class and they had attempted to mold a cast of one of the teacher's head and apparently had not used enough vasoline.
I got the call around 4:30 pm and he had been stuck in this mold since 11:00 am and they could not get him out... even had straws stuck in his nose. I almost laughed in the man's ear that called in. Got off the phone and lost it... called the ambulance direct line and told them I had a true E! event.
Then, the captain of the department came over the intercom and wanted to know just what kind of call the ambulance had.... Relayed that a 35 yo male had a plaster of paris cast on his head that they could not get off. So he wanted it toned out as "a rescue"... guess he was going to use the jaws of life to get him out. LOL (Netspeak for Laughing Out Loud) And..., being it was in another company's district that doesn't have rescue we had to tone out a two-company response (1 rescue/1 engine crew).... Maybe he just wanted to see this himself?
The man was so embarrassed. The ambulance crew just transported as it was stuck on his eyelids and lips and they felt the ER could handle it and do less damage. I told the guys at work that E! really had an episode like this and I would take it in if I had it to watch. By the way, the guy is all right and they did get the cast off. Just made my day to relive a true E!.
